Working on GLOW

The grant funds postdoctoral and doctoral positions across its five years. What the research programme need shifts as the work develops, so the subject of a given call is settled when the call is written rather than years in advance.

The work spans wave-optics theory, numerical methods, gravitational-wave data analysis and the astrophysics of lenses, and most people on the project end up touching more than one of those. Everything the project builds is released publicly, which shapes how the work is done: code and data products are written to be used by people outside the project.

Enquiries from people whose background is adjacent rather than identical (numerical methods, Bayesian inference, radio astronomy, scattering theory) are read on the same terms as those from within gravitational-wave lensing.
