GLOW is a multidisciplinary project: we look for people from diverse backgrounds who are interested in wave-optics lensing and highly motivated to join the team.
FPU 2026 PhD opportunity
Miguel Zumalacárregui is looking for an excellent candidate interested in applying for an FPU 2026 predoctoral fellowship at IFT UAM/CSIC in Madrid.
The FPU is an individual four-year fellowship and is not a GLOW-funded position or tied to a predefined GLOW project. The successful candidate would develop their PhD programme together with Miguel, with substantial freedom to pursue their own interests and ideas within areas broadly connected to gravitational lensing, gravitational waves, dark matter, cosmology, gravity, and related theoretical, computational and data-analysis problems.
The candidate would join Miguel's group at IFT and interact closely with the GLOW team.

Working on GLOW
The grant funds postdoctoral and doctoral positions across its five years. What the research programme need shifts as the work develops, so the subject of a given call is settled when the call is written rather than years in advance.
The work spans wave-optics theory, numerical methods, gravitational-wave data analysis and the astrophysics of lenses, and most people on the project end up touching more than one of those. Everything the project builds is released publicly, which shapes how the work is done: code and data products are written to be used by people outside the project.
